Trump Announces Peter Navarro to Return as WH Advisor

According to the AP News on December 3rd, President-elect Donald Trump has announced key appointments for his second administration, including the return of Peter Navarro as senior counselor for trade and manufacturing. Navarro, a former trade adviser during Trump’s first term, recently served a prison sentence for contempt of Congress after defying a subpoena from the House Jan. 6 committee. Upon release, Navarro described his conviction as politically motivated and highlighted his experience during a speech at the Republican National Convention.

Trump praised Navarro for his policy expertise and media skills. In addition, Trump nominated Michael Whatley as chairman of the Republican National Committee, Daniel Driscoll as Army secretary, Jared Isaacman as NASA administrator, and Adam Boehler as special presidential envoy for hostage affairs.
