Turning Point Action Conference, West Palm Beach, FL

Attendance at the event in the Palm Beach Convention Center July 15 &16 was standing room only. Charlie Kirk and his organization, Turning Point, had arranged an outstanding array of speakers from Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Byron Donalds, Dan Bongino, Steve Bannon, Josh Hawley to Vivek Ramaswamy and Mike Lindell and too many others to name.

The Martin County Republican Executive Committee had a booth on site with many volunteers to answer question and so forth.

As a retired college professor it was exhilarating to me to see all the young people there. My college students believed 'voting is for old people.' If one quarter of them were even registered to vote it would have surprised me back in the first two decades of this century.

Now, for example, there was a group of a dozen young folks from Idaho. They flew here for the event. Another group were from Connecticut. The number of young people who believed enough to purchase air fare tickets, pay hotel bills, cab fares, food, etc. was a heartening learning experience to observe. The stories we read of the Gen X, Y, Z, etc. must be more 'Fake News.'

These folks are invested in the future of our republic. They know Ben Franklin threw down the gauntlet to a woman who questioned the structure of our new government with the words: “a republic, madam, if you can keep it.”

After this event the possibility seems a strong one to save our republic in spite of what we are told by fake news outlets.
