Are we becoming a Tower of Babel Society?
Attempting to read an article in the Stuart News caused me to reach for a highlighter to use on the many pronouns included within.
When someone is delusional and/or suffering from gender dysphoria (a mental disease) s/he can choose any pronouns s/he wants, However, that does not require listeners/readers to use the “chosen pronouns.” We do have a system of language in this country that incorporates the gender assigned (by God) at birth based upon observation by the nurses, doctors, doulas, midwives, family members, present at the time of the birth. Rational people see it for the attack it is on American culture, the family structure, religion, history, and so on. It is promoted by those in favor of a genderless society - one without any taboos.
It is noticed that the focused individual uses “me” instead of its chosen: they, them, their, on occasion. If this newspaper is deviating from the standard English it will surely lose readership – starting with me, myself and I. Not a good idea in this “Bud Lite” WOKE era and the difficulty newspapers are having to stay afloat financially across the nation.
When I was a college student our papers had to follow APA format. Assuming today is a free for all; standard English is not standard anymore. If we are becoming a Tower of Babel adjustments must be made.
I ask, “Is that what we want? Do we want to speak in forked tongues? Do we want to have to work to decipher what the other person is words mean or do we want to communicate in standard English?”
Do we want a meeting of the minds or to try to figure out what the other individual means by his/her choice of pronouns?
Do we have to wait for AI to solve this human problem?
